Bio

Dr. Joel D. Eichler is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and the advanced treatment of retinal and vitreous disorders. With decades of experience, he provides expert care for patients with complex retinal conditions, using some of the most advanced surgical techniques available.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree at The George Washington University. He then completed an internal medicine internship at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, an ophthalmology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (formerly UMDNJ–NJMS), and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Foundation for Retinal Research/Touro Infirmary.

Dr. Eichler served as Chief of Retina at the former United Hospitals Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and is a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He is affiliated with Clara Maass Medical Center, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, Columbus Hospital LTACH, and University Hospital, Newark.

An active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Retina Society of New Jersey, Dr. Eichler is dedicated to combining advanced surgical expertise with compassionate, patient-centered care to help preserve and restore vision.

Dr. Kyle Bensinger is an optometrist with advanced training in the diagnosis and management of complex ocular diseases.  He provides comprehensive care for glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, corneal disorders, urgent care, and post-operative management.

He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry, where he received the NECO Clinic Award for clinical excellence. He completed his residency in ocular disease at the VA Boston Healthcare System and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Stony Brook.

Dr. Bensinger has presented research at national conferences and enjoys mentoring optometry students in clinical settings. He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, thorough eye care to patients of all ages.

Dr. Lauren C. Rispoli is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric and adult eye care. She provides comprehensive vision care for patients of all ages, with expertise in both routine and complex ophthalmic conditions.

She graduated summa cum laude from Seton Hall University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry before earning her medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (formerly UMDNJ–NJMS), followed by fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at the Children’s Eye Care Center of Newark. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds hospital appointments at Clara Maass Medical Center and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly St. Barnabas Medical Center).

Dr. Rispoli has contributed to research in inorganic chemistry and ophthalmology, with published work and presentations at national conferences. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Matthew J. Marano is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a recognized pioneer in advanced cataract and refractive surgeries. He is the founder and medical director of Marano Eye Care, a premier multispecialty ophthalmology group with offices in Denville, Livingston, and Newark, New Jersey.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Marano serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at both Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Saint Michael’s Medical Center, where he trains the next generation of surgeons and delivers expert lectures on advanced techniques and complication management. As Chief Medical Editor of Ophthalmology 360, a leading national publication, he shapes the conversation in the field of eye health. For more than a decade, he has been honored as both a NJ Monthly Top Doctor and a Castle Connolly Top Doctor—recognition earned through his exceptional skill and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.

A trailblazer in bladeless laser cataract surgery, Dr. Marano was among the first ophthalmic surgeons in New Jersey to perform femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, the most precise method for correcting both cataracts and astigmatism. He also has extensive expertise in implanting multifocal and toric intraocular lenses to help patients reduce dependence on glasses.

Dr. Marano graduated from Columbia University and earned his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at George Washington University School of Medicine, where he built the foundation for his long career in surgical excellence.

Dr. Edward B. Decker is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and distinguished LASIK specialist who has been delivering state-of-the-art eye care at Marano Eye Care since 1996. Serving patients across the practice’s three locations in Denville, Livingston, and Newark, New Jersey, Dr. Decker is distinguished by his  precision, innovation, and unwavering commitment to visual excellence.

An honor society graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Decker earned his medical degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He completed his internship at UMDNJ–Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and went on to serve as Chief Resident during his ophthalmology residency at Summa Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.

With nearly three decades of experience in laser vision correction, Dr. Decker has been at the forefront of bladeless LASIK technology, utilizing advanced VISX and Intralase laser systems to help thousands of patients achieve life-changing visual outcomes. Dr. Raouf is a valued member of Marano Eye Care, serving patients at offices in Denville, Livingston, and Newark, New Jersey.

A graduate of Swarthmore College, Dr. Raouf earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and Northwell Health Eye Institute. To further specialize, he completed a fellowship in corneal and external ocular disease and refractive surgery.

Dr. Raouf is skilled in advanced surgical procedures such as laser-assisted cataract surgery, innovative corneal surgeries including corneal cross-linking, and refractive surgeries such as LASIK and PRK. Bio

Dr. Robert S. Pinke is a board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive expertise in cataracts, Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, and premium intraocular lens implantation, glaucoma, retinal disorders, and macular degeneration. He is known for his thoughtful approach and for integrating the latest technology and research into patient care.

He earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he also completed his internship. He went on to complete his residency in ophthalmology at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine, where he received the Goar Award for Outstanding Research. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree in science from Tufts University.

Dr. Pinke serves as Medical Director at Ridgedale Surgery Center in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and an active member of several national and regional professional societies. Recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for over 25 years, as well as by U.S. News & World Report, New York Magazine, and Jersey’s Best, Dr. Pinke is dedicated to providing exceptional, patient-centered eye care.

Bio

Dr. Charissa Wong is a board-certified ophthalmologist whose greatest satisfaction comes from getting to know her patients and tailoring her care and advice to the particular needs of each individual. To do this, she spends time to learn about her patients and their concerns, as well as their medical profiles. By focusing on treating the person, rather than the medical condition, Dr. Wong is able to integrate her ophthalmic care into her patients’ lives and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Wong graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. She received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University School of Medicine and her fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine.

Dr. Wong is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Prior to moving to New Jersey, she served as a clinical instructor at Georgetown University Hospital. Her contributions to the ophthalmology profession were recognized with the Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Wong lives in suburban New Jersey with her husband and three wonderful children. When she is not working or serving in school leadership positions, Dr. Wong enjoys photography, playing the piano, and hiking. She is also involved with her local community and is currently Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Wharton Arts, a premier regional center for performing arts education in New Jersey.
