Advanced Eye Procedures with Expert Care
At Ophthalmology New Jersey (ONJ), we combine medical expertise with the latest technology to offer a full range of surgical and non-surgical procedures designed to protect, restore, and enhance your vision. From cataract surgery and corneal treatments to glaucoma care, retina procedures, and cosmetic services, our team provides personalized solutions tailored to your needs. With every procedure, your comfort, safety, and long-term eye health are our top priorities.
LASIK
LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a safe and effective laser vision correction procedure designed to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses. Using advanced laser technology, the surgeon gently reshapes the cornea to improve how light is focused onto the retina, resulting in clearer vision.
Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is one of the most common and successful procedures performed today. At ONJ, our surgeons use laser and advanced IOL technology to remove the clouded lens of your eye and replace it with a clear artificial lens, restoring sharp, vibrant vision and improving your quality of life.
Laser Cataract Surgery with Premium Multifocal or Extended Depth of Field Lenses
With laser-assisted cataract surgery, we offer patients an even greater level of precision and customization with the goal of increasing your glasses independence. Premium lens options, such as multifocal or extended depth of field lenses, can reduce or even eliminate your dependence on glasses, giving you clearer vision at multiple distances.
Complex Cataract Surgery
Some patients require specialized cataract procedures, such as a lens exchange, repositioning, or combined cataract and glaucoma surgery. Our doctors are highly experienced in managing these complex cases, ensuring safe, effective outcomes even when additional challenges are present.
Corneal Surgeries
The cornea is vital to clear vision, and ONJ provides advanced surgical options to restore corneal health. From transplantation techniques like PK, DSAEK, and DMEK to treatments such as PTK, crosslinking (KXL), or superficial keratectomy, our surgeons use the latest technology to address corneal disease, degeneration, and injury with precision and care.
Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)
For patients with glaucoma, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) procedures such as iStent, Omni, and iDose offer an advanced way to reduce eye pressure with less trauma and quicker recovery compared to traditional surgery. These treatments are designed to protect your vision while minimizing risk and downtime.
Laser Glaucoma Treatments
We also provide non-invasive laser procedures to manage glaucoma. Treatments such as selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) help control intraocular pressure effectively, giving patients more options to protect their sight.
Dry Eye Treatments
Dry eye can be more than an irritation; it can affect your daily life. When the front surface of the eye is dry, it becomes rough. If you think of the eye like a camera, it’s like trying to look through a roughed-up lens. In addition to irritation, this can cause blurred vision, glare and eye strain. ONJ offers targeted therapies, including punctal plugs, prescription medications, and advanced in-office procedures like LipiFlow to restore balance to your tear film and bring lasting relief.
Floaters Treatment
Floaters can be distracting, especially when they interfere with reading or daily activities. Using YAG vitreolysis, we can safely break apart bothersome floaters, helping you enjoy clearer, more comfortable vision. While the laser cannot remove the floater source, the goal is to break it up into smaller, less bothersome pieces spread more peripherally in the vision.
Retina Care
Conditions affecting the retina, such as macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy, require specialized treatment. Our expert providers use advanced lasers, injections, and surgical techniques to preserve retinal health and protect your vision, offering care that’s both comprehensive and compassionate.
Pterygium Excision
A pterygium, sometimes called “surfer’s eye,” is a growth on the surface of the eye that can cause redness, irritation, or blurred vision. Our surgeons perform precise excision procedures to remove the growth and restore comfort, often improving both appearance and vision.
Botox and Juvederm
In addition to medical eye care, we also provide cosmetic treatments such as Botox and Juvederm. These minimally invasive options can smooth fine lines, restore volume, and refresh your appearance, all delivered by experienced physicians in a safe, professional setting.
Blepharitis Treatment
Blepharitis is a common condition that causes eyelid inflammation, irritation, and crusting. At ONJ, we diagnose and treat blepharitis with therapies designed to control symptoms, improve eyelid hygiene, and protect the health of your eyes.
Chalazion Excision
A chalazion is a bump on the eyelid caused by a blocked oil gland that can become infected. While many resolve on their own, some require minor surgery. Our doctors can perform chalazion excision in-office, offering a safe and effective way to relieve discomfort and restore eyelid health.
Glaucoma Filtering Surgery
When glaucoma continues to worsen despite treatment with drops, laser, or minimally invasive procedures, it is necessary to perform a filtering surgery. Filtering surgeries allow the fluid inside of the eye to leave through an alternate pathway, as opposed to augmenting the anatomical pathways. These surgeries include tube shunts (Ahmed valve, Bareveldt tube), Xen stent, and trabeculectomy.
